About Ilaura Longley
Ilaura Longley is a full time gold prospector and co-owner of Gold Daughters, a gold panning business in Fairbanks, Alaska where she was born and raised. She is the youngest of 5 kids and spent her childhood working her family's mining claims looking for gold. As a teenager, her family discovered a resource on one of their claims that is more precious than gold; a deposit of Ice Age animal bones. This discovery, now referred to as The Boneyard Alaska, is one of the most significant paleontological digs in the world. A few years ago, Ilaura started crafting unique jewelry with some of the broken shards of mammoth tusk from the site. She transforms broken pieces of mammoth bark to spectacular pieces of history as fine crafted jewelry. After 40,000 years buried in the Alaskan muck, her pieces bring life back to the woolly mammoth.
